We invite highly motivated young people (aged 15 to 35) to gain hands-on experience in development, peace, and humanitarian work by joining our Professional Internship and Fellowship for Emerging Young Leaders (PIFEL) Program. Young people who are interested in gaining experience in Communications and are located In Yaounde to apply. Our PIFEL Program offers a unique opportunity for young people to engage in meaningful projects and contribute to sustainable development initiatives. Through this internship and fellowship, young leaders will have the chance to develop essential skills, expand their networks, and make a positive impact in their communities.
About PIFEL
The LOYOC Professional Internship and Fellowship for Emerging Young Leaders (PIFEL) is an inclusive professional development program for young people aged 15 to 35 from Cameroon and abroad. The program offers hands-on experience in development, peace, and humanitarian work, as well as organizational management and operations skills. Since its inception in 2016, the program has produced over 30 alumni, who have become a strong pipeline of young talented women and men working in the field of international development with various organizations, governments, think tanks, and academia.
The program offers three-month fellowships for practitioners and two-month internships for students to improve strategies and techniques to champion development, peace, and humanitarian efforts. Eligibility criteria include being young Cameroonians between 18 to 35, having at least 2 years of voluntary or work experience in community and international development or peacebuilding-related activities, being currently pursuing postgraduate or doctorate degrees, demonstrating proficiency in English and French Languages, and being available to commit at least 40 hours physically a week for the entire program.
About LOYOC
Local Youth Corner Cameroon (LOYOC) is a national, non-governmental, non-profit, and youth-led organization working with young people to build peace and prevent youth radicalization, instrumentalization, and violent extremism. LOYOC seeks to build peace and prevent youth radicalism and violent extremism through training, peer-to-peer education, sports, policy recommendations, and research, etc, and create an enabling environment for young people to exercise their full potential. Created in 2002, the organization currently has three operational offices with headquarters in Yaoundé including the just established Buea Field office which has operational coverage in the Littoral, West, Northwest, and Southwest regions of Cameroon.
With the need to empower young people to promote positive youth engagement within the Organisation and in the country. Through our PIFEL Program we are currently looking for young persons with a passion for peacebuilding and development with competencies in Accounting and Finance.
