We are pleased to invite young people across Cameroon to submit their Artificial Intelligence solutions for the 2023 UNESCO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE COMPETITION FOR THE REALISATION OF SDGs. This is a national contest organized by the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for Central Africa in collaboration with Local Youth Cameroon with support from the Cameroonian Government, Orange Digital Center, Orange Foundation and AUF.

About the Call

This initiative seeks to support young people’s efforts in promoting the realization of the SDGs through the use of artificial intelligence. It will build primarily on young people and existing AI platforms in Cameroon and Africa, to create a unique platform for young AI practitioners in the Central African sub-region to share best practices in the field and propose innovative AI-based initiatives to achieve Sustainable Development Goals in Africa by 2030.

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third positions. Prizes will be in cash and in-kind. The finalists will all benefit from capacity building and mentorship.

How to Apply 

• Step A: Pick one or several of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
• Step B: Develop an AI-based project addressing the Sustainable Development Goal(s) you choose. 

This includes writing out…

1. What is your project? and why is it important?
2. What are your project goals/objectives?
3. Where will you do your project? For Example, you can do your project with your school, church, community, or organization.
4. What is your time frame? (When you will start and complete your project?)

• Step C: Do your Project. Remember to take videos, pictures and document your results and the impact of your project, and anything you feel is important to share.
• Step D: Create a Video, Presentation, or Essay with Images sharing the answers to the above questions in step 2 with the results you achieved and anything else you feel is important to share.

Nous sommes heureux d’inviter les jeunes Camerounais à soumettre leurs solutions d’intelligence artificielle pour le Concours UNESCO 2023 d’INTELLIGENCE ARTIFICIELLE POUR LA RÉALISATION DES ODD. Il s’agit d’un concours national organisé par le Bureau Régional Multi-sectoriel de l’UNESCO pour l’Afrique Centrale en collaboration avec Local Youth Cameroun avec le soutien du Gouvernement Camerounais, d’Orange Digital Center et de l’AUF.

À propos de l’appel

Cette initiative vise à soutenir les efforts des jeunes dans la promotion de la réalisation des ODD à travers l’utilisation de l’intelligence artificielle.  Elle s’appuiera principalement sur les jeunes et les plateformes d’IA existantes au Cameroun et en Afrique, afin de créer une plateforme unique pour les jeunes praticiens de l’IA dans la sous-région d’Afrique centrale et de partager les meilleures pratiques dans le domaine et de proposer des initiatives innovantes basées sur l’IA pour atteindre les Objectifs de développement durable en Afrique d’ici 2030.

PRIX

Des prix seront attribués pour les première, deuxième et troisième places. Les prix seront en espèces et en nature. Les finalistes bénéficieront tous d’un renforcement des capacités et d’un mentorat

Comment postuler:

• Étape A : Choisissez un ou plusieurs des 17 objectifs de développement durable.
• Étape B : Développez un projet basé sur l’IA qui traite du ou des objectifs de développement durable que vous avez choisi(s). 

Il s’agit notamment de rédiger…

1. Quel est votre projet ? et pourquoi est-il important ?
2. Quels sont les buts/objectifs de votre projet ?
3. Où allez-vous réaliser votre projet ? Par exemple, vous pouvez réaliser votre projet avec votre école, votre église, votre communauté ou votre organisation.
4. Quel est votre calendrier ? (Quand allez-vous commencer et terminer votre projet ?)
5. Étape C : Réalisez votre projet. N’oubliez pas de prendre des vidéos, des photos et de documenter vos résultats et l’impact de votre projet, ainsi que tout ce que vous jugez important de partager.
6. Étape D : Créez une vidéo, une présentation ou un essai avec des images présentant les réponses aux questions ci-dessus de l’étape 2, les résultats que vous avez obtenus et tout autre élément que vous jugez important de partager.
