Four months after the birth of the Cameroon Youth Mediators Network  the 17 youth mediators who were commissioned  recently elected a steering committee to serve as a leadership structure to ensure  proper management, consistency, accountability and efficiency of the network in building peace in Cameroon.

This leadership structure was developed through an individual based recommendation process where
each member of the network made recommendations of their candidate via private WhatsApp text messages facilitated by the project focal point at Local Youth Corner Cameroon. Each recommendation was received and then, the final choices were made based on majority.

The steering committee constitutes a gender inclusive leadership structure which to serve as a  temporary body which will collaborate with the host institution of the network; Local Youth Corner Cameroon and other partners supporting the network to ensure proper management and coordination. This steering committee will exist from the date of its creation until the first physical meeting with the members of the network which is planned within the 2nd quarter of the year 2020. During the physical meeting the members will then elect their leadership who will lead for a period of one year.
