Bom Chia is a dedicated Project Officer at LOYOC, leveraging her extensive experience in conflict crisis management gained from her work in esteemed development organizations such as the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa, as well as international institutions like the United Nations Department of Peace Operations. This background has provided her with invaluable insights to serve in the Programs Department, while also actively engaging in youth peace and security initiatives aimed at preventing violent extremism in Cameroon.
With a Master’s of Arts in Global Studies, specializing in Peace and Security in Africa, from the prestigious Institute for Peace and Security Studies at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia and Leipzig University in Germany, Bom Chia possesses a solid academic foundation. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the esteemed University of Buea in Cameroon.
Bom Chia’s unwavering passion lies in issues pertaining to Peace and Security in Africa, with a particular focus on understanding how societies can strive towards a sustainable Africa. She firmly believes in the power of collective efforts to foster peace and security on the continent.
