Mansuru Usmanu Mohmukwe is a dedicated Project Officer at Local Youth Corner Cameroon, with over three years of experience in project management, implementation, research, and community development. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Yaoundé I, specializing in Dystopia and Cross-Cultural Studies. Mansuru joined Local Youth Corner through the organization’s fellowship program, which equips young professionals with first-hand experience and practical skills in peacebuilding and development.
He has previously served as Executive Assistant, providing daily administrative and field support to the Executive Director and various units within the organization. Mansuru has also served as Manager of the Youth, Peace and Security Resource Center, where he led initiatives that strengthened youth engagement in peacebuilding and conflict management across the ten regions of Cameroon.
Currently, he serves as Project Officer for the organization’s flagship initiative, the Na We We Sports Jamboree, and has successfully coordinated its last three editions, including the recently concluded 4th edition in Bertoua (2025). This program uses sports and recreational activities to foster social cohesion, moral, civic, and entrepreneurial rearmament, as well as healthy living among displaced persons and their host communities. He also serves as Project Officer for the Peace and Stabilization Operations Program (PSOPS), funded by Canada, which engages young peacebuilders in the Northwest and Southwest regions to actively and inclusively participate in peacebuilding processes in their communities.
In addition, Mansuru contributes research-related support, including conducting baseline studies and community consultations that inform the design and implementation of projects in targeted communities. His research work also includes the publication of policy briefs, field guides, and articles. His commitment to these roles continues to advance the organization’s mission of empowering young people and fostering peace and stability in Cameroon.
