
Dione Sharon is a dynamic youth leader and development specialist with over 5years of experience in designing, planning, implementing and assessing peacebuilding, humanitarian, education, and gender-inclusive initiatives. Sharon is currently Program Manager for the NGO Local Youth Corner Cameroon, where she proactively leads a team of 17 program staff and has successfully led the design & implementation of over 40 SDG-targeted initiatives for the organization. She has a Master’s in International Relations from the Protestant University of Central Africa, and a Professional Certification in Disaster Risk and Humanitarian Management from the Pan African Institute for Development, West Africa in collaboration with the UNPEACE University Africa Program. She is an Alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative, by USAID and Programs Consultant for the Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network in Cameroon. In 2021, during the Global WISE Education Conference in Qatar, she was a guest speaker together with the AU, and IGAD, at the High-level panel on Strengthening Intergenerational Dialogue for Collaboration to Shape the UNSCR2250 on Youth Peace and Security. Sharon is an experienced youth development mentor, trainer, and facilitator and was recognized as LOYOCs most outstanding employee in 2020. Sharon’s life goal is to foster initiatives that make societies more habitable and peaceful for present and future generations.
