
Besong Bawack Mallet serves as the HR & Admin Coordinator and Programme Manager at Local Youth Corner Cameroon and oversees the administration, human resources and projects of the organisation. He is a Peacebuilder with experience in preventing violent extremism through hate speech mitigation and promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of former violent offenders as well as facilitating youth participation in peace processes. In short, Mallet is a Spread Love (No Hate Speech) Campaigner.
Mallet is the Founder/Coordinator of the Network for Community Development, Cameroon (NECOD).
Mallet holds a Bachelor Degree in History with a minor in Political Science from the University of Buea.
Mallet has assisted in several research processes on peace and development and is co-author and contributor to two policy documents on hate speech in Cameroon, among other studies carried out independently.
Mallet also belongs to several national and international peacebuilding networks that seek to promote a culture of peace through fighting hate and division and youth inclusion in peace processes. Some of these networks include Countering Hate Speech Network, Though Partnership Peer Learning Community, United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY) and the UNOY African Youth Advocacy Team (A-YAT), etc.
