PBF PRONEC: LOYOC implements youth leaders in moral, civic and entrepreneurial rearmament and community involvement techniques in collaboration with UNFPA Cameroon.
Today 15th of August 2024, Local Youth Corner (LOYOC) launched the Training for young people and youth leaders in moral, civic and entrepreneurial rearmament and community involvement techniques which will be empowering 100 youths and 30 supervisors in the East and North Region of Cameroon. Through this training, participants will gain techniques in community engagement and the promotion of civic values.
This activity is being implemented implemented under the National Civic Education Program through Moral, Civic and Entrepreneurial Rearmament (PBF-PRONEC project) aimed at strengthening peace, social cohesion and living together in communities affected by crises.
Over the years, rising insecurity and humanitarian crises has increased the vulnerability of youths especially in the East and North Region of Cameroon which is why, this activity seeks to increase the capacities of young leaders from Meiganga, Djohong, Mokolo, Maroua and Guider in Cameroon to facilitate the creation of networks capable of addressing issues of peacebuilding and living together. The project activity is carried out in collaboration with The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC) Cameroon and The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Cameroon. By engaging the PBF-PRONEC project, we aspire to create and empower a more concerted network of young people committed to fostering sustainable peace and development in the region.
One of the outstanding features of the training model is the participatory approach to teaching and learning. The approach lays emphases on collaboration and teamwork, fostering interactive learning and skill-building among participants. Participants are able to design concrete context specific action plans for community projects that address specific needs and issues in their respective communities.
