ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

The LOYOC Professional Internship and Fellowship for Emerging Young Leaders (PIFEL) is a globally inclusive professional development program designed for young students and professionals interested in development, peace, and humanitarian action. The program provides participants from Cameroon and beyond with the opportunity to join LOYOC’s team at any of its offices in Buea, Yaoundé, Bamenda, or Maroua. Through hands-on experience, participants gain practical skills in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, as well as organizational management and operations.

Since its pilot phase in 2016, PIFEL has produced over 100 alumni who have advanced into impactful roles within international organizations, government agencies, think tanks, and academia. The program offers:

  • Three-month fellowships for professionals to enhance their strategies in development, peace, and humanitarian efforts.
  • Two-month internships for students to develop practical skills and experience.

Interns and fellows will engage in program design and implementation, stakeholder engagement, research, and best practice analysis while building valuable professional networks. The program culminates in a formal presentation where participants share their learnings and showcase their initiatives.
