LOYOC, Magasco Launches “Access to Love” Campaign at Mada Int. College

In a bid to combat hate, violence, and deviant behaviors in educational institutions, Local Youth Corner Cameroon designed the Access to Love Campaign in collaboration with Cameroon’s renowned artist Tohnain Anthony Nguo – stage name Magasco. Magasco under the B-Boy Records, visited Mada College to officiate the launch of the “Access to Love Campaign.” This initiative is set to make waves across secondary schools and universities in Yaoundé starting January 2025, to foster a culture of love, peace, and resilience among students.

The “Access to Love Campaign” responds to the challenges students face in today’s educational environment. Social disunity, bullying, substance abuse, and violence disrupt learning. These issues hinder academic performance and harm students’ emotional well-being.

The campaign aims to tackle these problems at their core. It promotes resilience and creativity while fostering social cohesion. By building values of love, tolerance, and responsible decision-making, we can create a supportive and nurturing school environment.

Magasco’s visit to Mada College filled the atmosphere with energy and excitement. The artist highlighted the importance of safe and nurturing school environments where students can thrive free from violence and discrimination. “We are here to spread a message of love and unity. Together, we can build a community where every student feels valued and respected,” he stated passionately.

Innovative Approaches to Engage Students

The “Access to Love Campaign” stands out for its creative and engaging methodologies. The initiative will incorporate various activities designed to resonate with young minds, including:

  • Arts and Crafts Workshops: Students will express their feelings and thoughts through creative mediums, allowing them to process emotions and share their experiences.
  • Storytelling Sessions: By sharing personal stories, students will learn empathy and understanding, fostering connections among peers.
  • Essay Writing Competitions: These contests will encourage students to articulate their ideas on love and acceptance, promoting critical thinking and self-expression.
  • Pageants and Content Creation Contests: Fun and engaging competitions will empower students to showcase their talents while reinforcing positive values.

The campaign will also establish “Access to Love Clubs” in participating schools. These clubs will provide ongoing support, mentorship, and opportunities for students to promote the campaign’s values long after the initial launch.

The launch at Mada College is just the beginning. Starting in January 2025, the “Access to Love campaign” will expand to other 20 secondary schools and universities across Yaoundé. The organizers are committed to working closely with school administrations, teachers, and students to ensure the campaign’s success and create a lasting positive impact on the lives of young people in Cameroon.
