Community Service Days Activity for Promoting Youth Participation in Sustainable Community Development
Local Youth Corner Cameroon is excited to announce the upcoming Community Service Days to promote youth participation in Sustainable Community Development. The first phase of the activity will take place from December 20th to December 23rd, 2024, in the conflict-affected regions of the North-West and subsequently in the South-West of Cameroon.
Activity Overview
The Community Service Days aim to promote community engagement and collaboration for peacebuilding and raise awareness about the prevention of the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict. The initiative will strengthen the capacity of youth leaders trained through the Training of Trainers (ToT) program, enabling them to participate actively in peace-focused community activities. This event also seeks to enhance visibility and advocacy for the Vancouver Principles and the importance of youth involvement in peacebuilding efforts.
Methodology and Timeline for the Activity
The Community Service Days aim to promote community engagement and collaboration for community development. The initiative will strengthen the capacity of youth leaders trained through the Training of Trainers (ToT) program, enabling them to participate actively in community activities.
The Community Service Days will adopt a youth-led approach, utilizing trained ToT participants from the 12 subdivisions in the North-West and South-West regions. These trainers will coordinate and facilitate activities within their respective divisions, supported by Local Youth Corner Cameroon.
