Youth-led Rapid Response to Prevent the Spread of Covid-19 in Cameroon (Mbankomo/Mfou Communities)
In our continues quest to ensure the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 in Cameroon, Yaounde the Center region benefited from our »Operation One Person One Hand Sanitizer » campaign. Yesterday 2nd September, 2020 our team led by the National Coordinator Mr Achaleke Christian Leke in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education represented by it’s Regional Delegate were at Mbankomo and Mfou communities in the outskirts of Yaoundé to provide a rapid response to the spread of Covid-19 in these communities.
The Ceremony included the handing over of 600 hand sanitizers, 2 loudspeakers which contains sensitization messages against Covid-19 and 300 sensitization stickers by Local Youth Corner Cameroon (LOYOC) to the SDOs of Mbankomo and Nfou. The SDOs then handed the items to the community representatives of various associations such as Cameroon National Youth Council of Mbankomo and Mfou, Association des Jeunes dynamiques de Mbankomo, Association Saint Sylvetre, Représentant Acteurs Communautaire, Buyam Sellam de Mfou, Groupe de Volontaires, Comité de Vigilance etc.
The gifts were received with much joy and appreciation from the community “We are really delighted that in this trying moments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation Local Youth Corner Cameroon thought of us the youths of Mfou and the community as a whole. We are engaged to share the PPEs and sensitize the population about the virus” said the President of the Youth Association of Mfou. The National Coordinator of LOYOC Mr Achaleke promised more support in other communities in the coming days.
