Survey to Empower African Women in Meditation and Peace Processes by UNITAR

Dear Young African Woman Mediator/Peacebuilder,
UNITAR is glad to share a request that they received from the Youth and Women Empowerment
team within the Division for Peace at UNITAR- the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.

As part of a global commitment to empower women in meditation and peace processes and as UNITAR
look to broaden their offerings, they are conducting an inclusive needs assessment on the experiences
of young African women and girls who are involved in mediation and peacebuilding in their
communities. With this in mind, we are reaching out to you in the hope that you will take a few minutes of
your time to participate in this innovative project.
The attached survey is the first step of this inclusive needs assessment to provide a clear understanding
of the challenges facing young African women mediators and peacebuilders in their work, and of the
digital solutions that could be designed to overcome those obstacles. To participate, kindly fill the
enclosed survey. Please be informed that the survey is open until Wednesday 10th June. The intended
target audience are young African women and girls who are involved in mediation and peacebuilding in
their communities.
For any question and/or additional information, please contact Ms Josiane Darwatoye (https://(Josiane.DARWATOYE@unitar.org) or Ms Elizabeth Wright (https://(Elizabeth.WRIGHT@unitar.org)from the Youth and Women Empowerment team within UNITAR.
