CYPAN and LOYOC peace and CVE advocacy team received in audience by the Cameroon Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education

On the 28 of June 2017 , the Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors and Local Youth Coner (LOYOC ) peace and CVE advocacy team was received in an audience by the Cameroon Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education . This Advicacy Minission which was headed by Achaleke Christian Leke , National coordinator of LOYOC and Pan -Commonwealth coordinator of CYPAN was aimed at advocating for more youth participation in the peace building process in Cameroon as well as the development of a favorable environment for young people to collaborate with government to promote lasting peace . Mr. Achaleke was accompanied by the Country Coordinator of CYPAN ; Miss Ntchunda Prudence .
This mission was grazed by the joint action of LOYOC and CYPAN in highlighting the contributions of young Cameroonian so far in the peace building process as well as highlighting possibilities for the Cameroonian Government to collaborate with the Commonwealth Secretariat in developing an efficient program to harness the positive energy and peace loving heart of young Cameroonians.
Equally , during this meeting Mr Achaleke presented the a policy recommendation called the Action agenda on engaging youth civil society in Rehabilitation and reintegration in Cameroon which was developed by young peace builders in Cameroon during a joint training organized by LOYOC and CYPAN.
As part of this delegation , Mr Idzesop Ibrahim representing the Commonwealth Department at the Ministry of External Relations further highlighted Commonwealth strategies in promoting youth participation in peace building as well as the Commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in ensuring that Cameroon benefits from such efforts .
During this meeting , the Miniter expressed his gratitude to the efforts of young Cameroonians in promoting sustainable peace in Cameroon . He further pledged to work in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat and CYPAN in peace building efforts in Cameroon . In his concluding words , he reaffirmed his commitment of working with young people in their strive to promote peace and fight against all forms of violence.
This advocacy visit ended with the handing over of copies of the advocacy materials and an interview and photo session .
